  I had a unfortunate experience with this place today. I had been warned off being told that they tamper with your car while in for mot. I took this with a pinch of salt and stupidly booked in for mot . I had been over the car with a fine tooth comb and discovered a few issues of which I had rectified myself one of which was new track rod ends. When I had the call to tell me that the car had failed on a fog light and a track rod end I was shocked. I could understand the fog light as I may have simply missed it but the track rod end. I had only replaced track rod end this morning I had used genuine parts from Volkswagen. I was told that the bolt on the end was loose. Again I thought this was bizarre but possible that I had left slightly loose. So I had asked the garage to have a look to see if they could tighten the bolt. They had reported back to me that it was impossible to tighten due to the wrong part being fitted ( at this point they did not know it was me who had fitted the part) and was trying to quote me for a new one. I decided at this point to collect the car and repair myself. On arrival at the garage I was handed a invoice for £64.95 which was £29.95 mot which was okay and £25 for half hour labour for them look at bolt and decide they cannot do it up. I had only agreed for them to do mot and fit a fog light bulb which would be £5 so I was told by the really nice lady at reception. This annoyed me that the price grows without notice. I was told at this point I can pay £35 but I’m not welcome there again !!!! On receiving my keys before I left the garage premises I wanted to see what “play” they were talking about on the track rod end that had been reported. After checking the car and feeling no play on track rod. I went back to explain my issue to the owner I believe he was very rude and just said it wasn’t him that tested it. They did send out the mot tester with a trolly jack to show me the play as the car was jacked up all became clear that the track rod was loose and I mean very loose, undrivable loose. At this point I said to mot tester that it wasn’t like that this morning when I dropped it off he gave a blank stare and shrugged his shoulders. I believe what has happened today is that this garage has seen a easy target for easy money not knowing that I am fully qualified mechanic. I am pretty sure that they have purposely undone bolts to make it look like parts are faulty when they are not. Once they have been challenged with this information there response was “report us to whoever you want who will they believe” I wish I had listened to everyone who warned me off. If you use this garage do so at your own risk they are dishonest, money grabbers that mess with your car to get extra money for work that isn’t needed. On driving the car away from the test centre it became very clear that they had tampered with the car it was dangerous to drive pulling from one side of the road to the other. Please please don’t use this garage if I didn’t know what I know about cars they would have easily got away with this. It sickens me to think how many unsuspecting victims just pay there bill without question be careful people. I have reported this incident to the Minestry of Transport who will be investigating in due course. Until then avoid ,avoid ,avoid

  Always use these they are very friendly and reliable and always try and give you the cheaper options. The lovely girl on the desk always very helpful and always happy.Well done all of you.
